 | Nitrous Oxide on a diesel application works a little different than on a gas motor. There is no need to change timing or do any of the things gas motors require to run nitrous. In a diesel application all nitrous does is burn the fuel that would normally not burn due to lack of oxygen. When you see black smoke exiting your exhaust, what you are actually seeing is horse power leaving. Adding nitrous will clear up that smoke and turn it into usable HP. However if your truck doesen't create smoke or has very little even under heavy throttle you won't see much power gain from nitrous. Because nitrous is not combustable by itself you don't have to worry about any harmful pre-detonation. This kit is adjustable up to 200 HP but if you don't have enough extra fuel you won't achieve those numbers. A tuned 6.5 works very well with a 50 HP shot, adding to much nitrous without the fuel will actually decrease HP in that it starts to quench the burn in the cylinder. Finding the correct nitrous shot is important to creating power. | |
