Drivability issues are often related to the injection pump, however it is always best to make certain that the PMD, fuel lift pump (transfer pump) and electronic filter harness are not causing the problems you have.
Fuel contamination is also a major factor in drivability issues. Water, whether in globules or in emulsion (entrained water) will most certainly cause problems---both short and long term.
