Gauge accuracy is important, as the pressures range fairly low at 2-7 psi and we build this gauge kit using a very high quality, super accurate gauge head. Our test gauge kit features a special connecter tube which fastens onto the outlet nipple of the fuel filter drain cock, located near the thermostat housing at the front of the engine. We supply the gauge with 6 feet of tubing to allow you to (now don't laugh) onto the exterior surface of the windshield. This allows you to test drive the truck with the fuel line and gauge safely outside the passenger compartment. The most important pressure reading is the one you get while driving the vehicle and it must be at or above 2 psi in order to assure proper engine function.
If you determine a too low pressure reading, that would suggest your need of one of our OEM quality, fuel lift pumps (listed separately).
