When the restictive inner fender 'snorkel' has been removed, the factory air-box on these trucks and suburbans will flow enough air to support a strong 6.5. The filter area is not great, so care must be
exercised in choosing an appropriate one to do the job.
The AFE filter cartridge, installed in this factory box will provide the airflow the engine needs AND it stops dirt. We have found no other filter that can honestly make either claim.
